Coming up this Friday, we have a fabulous festival style wedding by Richard Savage Photgraphy. This is a lovely photo of the beautiful couple Lisa and Carl just after they got married at the stunning Oxwich Bay . Just wait till you see the back of this brides dress from Hannah Emily Bridal in Cardiff. It is absolutely stunning! I have fallen in love with all of their little touches and the bright colours. The bouquets were so viberant. Sunflowers are honestly the happiest flower that I know. Make sure you have a look at their real wedding at the end of the week.
Here it is, in all its glory, Our amazing Cwtchmas Party!
We have so many people to thank for what was an incredible evening on the 11th December. Firstly, the incredible National Museum Cardiff for hosting our event and to Elior for providing all the amazing food! They were a dream to work with and if you are yet to book your wedding venue, may we strongly suggest you take a look at what they can offer. We were blown away :)
We were also thrilled to have the fabulous Ben Walton on hand during the evening to capture the night on film – take a look below. If you were there on the night, let us know if you spot yourself! :) and if you have already booked Ben to film your wedding, you’ve made a great choice! Also, a big thanks to Tim Bishop who photographed the entire event and who’s images are featured in this post!
Having never organised an event on this scale before, I was incredibly nervous and my stress levels quickly peaked when I realised the amount of work involved. That’s when I knew having professional planners would be key to it success. A HUGE thanks goes to Deeanne & Ruth from Finesse Planning.
These ladies are worth their weight in gold. As a wedding photographer I have seen many brides over the years convinced they don’t need help planning their wedding and afterwards wishing they had. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. This event wouldn’t have been as great as it was if it wasn’t for the organisational skills of these two ladies. They took control of the planning, communicating with everyone involved, setting up (we only had an hour!), managing the event itself and then when we all left to carry on the party, they stayed to clear up. Amazing!
We were also thrilled to have The Boutique Disco involved. Initially I thought, like most DJs, they’ll just provide music. OH NO… not Grant. Not only did he provide background music but he created the lighting, provided the LED furniture AND an amazing screen which stood at one end of the Museum. It looked awesome. All of these are available to hire for your own wedding too :)
Check out our ‘Cwtch the Bride’ cake provided by Heavenly Exquisite Desserts They are based in Llandeilo and if you’ve not yet tasted their cake, you really need too! Mmm!
Our live entertainment for the evening was provided by some very talented Welsh musicians. The amazing Sion Russell Jones, Coverland & our regular blog sponsor Brother Ray. Do check out their music, we’re big fans of them all :)
Another big supporter of our blog, Hannah Emily Bridalwear gave our guests a lovely treat throughout the evening by showcasing some of the wedding gowns available in her boutique…
…As well as Amy Mair Couture, who travelled from Pembrokeshire to share a selection of beautiful gowns from her Freda May collection.
Malc the Magician worked the room with his close up magic and was a big hit…
Finesse Planning also wowed our guests with some beautifully styled tables. This gave our readers some wonderful inspiration, with thanks to Kelly at White Crafts, By Jo, Snow White Laundries, and a special thanks to Hilary’s Floral Design who were already super busy doing flowers for Prince Charles yet still made time for us :)
The sequined tablecloths attracted a lot of interest on the evening. I loved the way they shimmered! All thanks to Gilded Linens.
Who got to try out WOW Event Hire‘s inflatable Chesterfields? We did, super comfy! :) These super stylish sofas are great for any event and ridiculously quick to inflate and deflate :) If you are having a marquee wedding, how cool would these look in the chill out area?
All our guests received a goody bag filled with lots of treats, one of which was a delicious cupcake by Love, Peace & Cupcake.
Queen Of Cakes also supplied us with branded biscuits too! how lucky were we :)
Oh my, how could we forget the amazing Pick ‘N’ Mix Circus who entertained our guests with a host of things ranging from ringmaster, compere, toastmaster extraordinaire to juggling, balloon modelling, a giant snowman and much more. It astounded me how much this company can offer in terms of entertainment.
If you have a sweet tooth, you will love The Good Ship Lollipop They offer all your old favourites in a super cool pop-up sweet shop :) How cool would this be at your wedding? Our guests certainly enjoyed it :)
There are loads more photographs to look though. We had a brilliant grotto/photobooth. Thanks to Celtic Prop Hire for providing a sleigh, christmas trees and lots of other cool props for Santa and our guests to be photographed amongst.
Also a big thanks to Aquila from Love & Lovelier for making us these beautiful, custom badges! :)
& of course huge thanks to Shell (the lovely lady on the right) at Something Kinda Cute for designing our fabulous invitation for us! :)
Wow! I think we covered everyone. The evening was a great success. If you weren’t able to attend, we hope we have inspired you with this post. There are some truly talented wedding suppliers on your doorstep, each offering you something different from the ordinary. Not only are each of these suppliers great at what they do on a day-to-day basis but they are genuinely lovely people who go that extra mile for you. And lets face it, when you are planning your wedding, isn’t that what you want?
Finally, from me, personally, I was really touched by how many of my favourite wedding professionals each gave up their time and talents to help us on the evening. It really means a lot to me that you all came out to support Cwtch the Bride. You were all a dream to work with :) And to all the readers that continually visit the site for inspiration. THANK YOU!
Cwtch the Bride would like to thank the wonderful suppliers who have all
contributed to our wonderful party!

We’ve got a great opportunity today for all you lovelies still searching for a wedding dress – the brides of Wales are really in for a treat! :)
Tobi Hannah’s short and tea-length, modern but vintage-style dresses have been the answer to many a bride’s wishes and her recent book on short wedding dresses cements her as the to go expert when it comes to choosing a short wedding dress.
She understands the bride who wants something different on her wedding day and her dresses include demure sixties-style shift dresses, Degas and Audrey Hepburn inspired tutus, and elegant fifties-style dresses with her own design of brocade. Her latest collection was inspired by and named after the Pink Floyd album, The Wall.
Her second brand, Lara Hannah, has beautiful and ethereal-looking long gowns, many inspired by Waterhouse paintings such as The Lady of Shalott and The Magic Circle. In fact, her latest collection is called The Magic Circle!
Tobi Hannah will be at Hannah Emily Bridal, along with members of team, so each bride will be able to meet the designer and try on some of her incredible dresses. Such a fab opportunity to ask the actual designer about a dress! :)
Every single dress in the Tobi Hannah and Lara Hannah collections will be available to try on – from the elegant, tea-length Tai dress to the ballet-rock Epic short dress, and from the stunning, Guipure lace Alberta long dress to the Waterhouse-inspired full lace Magic dress gown.

What do you all think of the collection – aren’t these dresses gorgeous? :)
We’ve got another fabulous Welsh vendor to introduce to you all today (I’m sure a few of you already know her!) – the lovely Hannah Bishop from Hannah Emily Bridal, a beautiful boutique offering bridalwear in Cardiff. Hannah is also one of our blog sponsors, you can find her in the sidebar to the right :)
Cwtch the Brides introduces:
We asked Hannah a few questions to help you all get to know her and her business a bit better :)
Welcome to Cwtch the Bride! :) Can you tell our readers a little bit about yourself?
Hi, I’m Hannah! :) I was one of those girls that loved dressing up, mainly in my mum’s dresses and heels – that’s where it all began! I knew from a young age that I would need to be doing something in the world of fashion but it wasn’t until I did some work experience in high school at a bridal shop in Penarth that I fell in love with wedding dresses. My ‘dream’ had begun and it was all so inspirational!
I had always excelled at textiles in high school and from there pursued fashion/design in college through to university as well as completing some styling courses along the way! I learnt a lot during this time about fashion in general, fabrics, pattern cutting, fashion eras, trends and fashion forecasting. It was hardwork but very influential in helping me to achieve my goal and what I needed to get to my dream job.
What made you decide to start Hannah Emily Bridal?
I met my handsome husband over a year and a half a go now, it was a bit of a whirlwind romance but when you know you know! I had 6 months to find my dress, which ruled out designing one myself as I wanted to be hands on with every little detail so I decided to go on my journey to find my dream dress.
I tried on several dresses in Cardiff but none that were what I was looking for, which then forced me to do more research. I then found a designer I liked and found the closest stockist to be in Taunton, Somerset! At this point I didn’t really expect much but the boutique there was so cute and I knew the sort of thing I wanted and there, finally, I found my dress!
It was even more stunning than I had imagined and it seemed ridiculous to me for Welsh brides to have to travel so far to find something a bit alternative and fashion forward, which gave me the final encouragment I needed to look into doing it myself with a little support from my husband.
Hannah Emily bridal opened in October 2012 and the boutique is just how I imagined! I had a strict vision on how I needed the boutique to look, and it really does look how I dreamt it.
What do you offer?
We offer our brides a exclusive, relaxing, friendly enviroment in a unique boutique with carefully chosen, truly beautiful collections and accessories (on occasion I do bring in my two little yorkipoos Conan and Rufio too!). We like to ensure finding your special dress is as special as you are, an experience you’ll enjoy and that will stay with you forever.
I love our dresses and meeting different brides-to-be and helping them find their dream dress is such a special moment to be part of. It’s always interesting seeing different wedding styles too – each bride’s style is always different which keeps things ever inspiring.
What size range do you stock?
At the boutique our samples range from a 10-16 (you can order sizes outside of this) and our prices range from £1185 – £3125.
What designers do you work with?
We work with Lyn Ashworth by Sarah Barrett, Lara Hannah London, Charlotte Balbier and in the Autumn we will be launching the very beautiful Annasul Y collection. As a bride we can promise you that our dresses are unique to our boutique and that they are made from the highest quality fabrics and finished to the very highest standard.
What’s your favourite thing about working in Wales?
Our favourite thing about working here in Wales is that people are so warm and supportive – since we opened in Rhiwbina in October the other shops have been so lovely. There is a real community spirit here, Cardiff is such a beauitful city once you have lived here you never want to leave!
& now Hannah has some questions for you, our lovely readers! :) She’d love to know the answers so pop them in the comments:
Are you looking for a specific detail in your dress? Back detailing or a colour?
What would you like your chosen boutique to provide?
When looking for dream dress how do you mostly do your research?
Have you considered a budget for your dress before you begin?
Do you find designer days helpful?
