Today we are sharing Sophie and Simons’s beautiful engagement shoot at The National Museum of Wales, St.Fagans. Photographed by Lewis Fackrell Photography.

The weekend we choose for our pre-wedding photoshoot with Lewis was significant for us.  We had celebrated 18 years together just two days beforehand!

Simon and I met at school in 1999. I had developed a huge crush on this handsome sixth-former who I used to walk past on my way to my GCSE Physics lessons. After pointing him out to a friend, it turned out that she knew him! A cinema date was arranged, to watch the (hugely romantic!) American Pie and the rest is history!Sophie-Simon-St-Fagans-pre-wedding-photographer-Lewis-Fackrell-Photography-©-4

Fast forward to Christmas Eve 2016, when tradition dictates that we each unwrap a present from the other. Simon said he had to go to his ‘Man Shed’ to find mine as he had been hiding my gift in there and then asked me to close my eyes.Sophie-Simon-St-Fagans-pre-wedding-photographer-Lewis-Fackrell-Photography-©-2

He seemed to be taking a long time to hand me the present and I could hear him breathing quite heavily! At this point I started to suspect something, and sure enough once I opened my eyes there he was on one knee holding out a ring box.

Having been together for so long and knowing marriage was on the cards for us, we have talked a lot about wedding plans and I have always said that I would be happy with a Haribo ring and to choose my own ring if Simon was unsure what to go for.

When opening my eyes the first thing I saw was a Haribo, but then I spotted the sparkle underneath. Knowing I adore all things vintage, Simon had picked a beautiful antique ring for me. We then dashed over to tell our parents and the prosecco was swiftly opened, getting our Christmas off to a very merry start!Sophie-Simon-St-Fagans-pre-wedding-photographer-Lewis-Fackrell-Photography-©-1
We are very excited about our wedding in May 2018, and so happy that Lewis is photographing our big day! We literally didn’t stop laughing on our pre-wedding shoot, and know that our wedding day will be just as much fun!

After a model call on my Facebook page, I was inundated with lots of couples wanting to take advantage of a super cool day out at Aberavon beach and getting romantic with a loved one and of course getting some kick ass images to remember forever. The brief to the couple was simple. “We are heading to the beach and I will need you to sit in the sea and just be your selves” . Emily and Luke did not let me down.

The reason I wanted a real couple is because I wanted to see how the couple interacted with each other and not for me to help pose or direct.

Thank you so much for sharing Les!

Pre-Wedding Shoot: Sarika & Dipesh by Sheetal Varsarni

Hello you lovely lot of Cwtchers!

We have an absolutely gorgeous pre-wedding shoot for you today!

You may remember that we shared a completely gorgeous Cwtch of the Week of Sarika and Dipesh back in April? Well, the fabulous photographer Sheetal Varsani has now sent us the whole shoot and its just delicious!

Over to Sheetal to tell you more about it….

I photographed Sarika & Dipesh’s Civil Ceremony last July and their pre-wedding shoot just a couple of weeks before their big day. Sarika & Dipesh’s relationship began in High School and after 10 years together, these childhood sweethearts got married with a ceremony at Cardiff City Hall.

For their pre-wedding shoot, we drove down to Ogmore-by-Sea to catch some of the beach’s gorgeous golden hour light. It’s one of my favourite spots along the Welsh Coast for the sunset and not a long drive from Cardiff. When the tide is in, Ogmore-by-Sea is mostly cliffs and pebbles, but the tide was out so we got to frolic around on the sand as well, giving us more of a variety of backdrops.

Despite it being the middle of July, the weather was a bit dreary, but this made for some dramatic light and backdrop. Sarika & Dipesh embraced the cold wind and drizzle – they were even brave enough to get into the sea for some of the shots!

Sarika & Dipesh were both complete naturals in front of the camera. They got lost in each other and completely forgot I was even there most of the time!

A Sunset on Southerndown Cwtch

Wow, what can I say other than what a superb day to have shot this pre wedding shoot with Susie and Rob.

In August I will be heading to Clearwell Castle where I will have the pleasure of shooting their wedding.

So, having meet Susie and Rob last year to discuss their wedding, I was over the moon that they decided to book me for their big day and recently when Susie got in touch to arrange a pre wedding shoot at Southerndown beach I had all fingers and toes crossed that the sun would come out to play. Well, it worked. The weather man or woman, I’m not sure which :) said it would be cloudy and overcast all day. I should have known, as we all do, they are never right and I am so glad this was true.  The brightest and clearest blue skies that I have seen this year, not a cloud in the sky and the location Dunraven Bay, renowned by landscape photographers and many others as an amazing sunset location.

Susie told me that she and Rob were not lovers of the camera so I had to make sure that by the end of the shoot they were. Rob, well Rob clearly knew how to work that camera and even impressed Susie, well done Rob, obviously been practicing :)  It was a great day, plenty of laughs and what really made the day for me was when they both said how much of a great time they both had. Thank you both, looking forward to the wedding now.

Its been a while but i’m back… sharing more of my work with all you lovely Cwtchers.

Cwtches can mean so many things to so many people. Here we have one that I adore. I photographed Cary & Ross’s wedding on Penarth Pier back in October. It was a beautiful intimate ceremony followed with fish n Chips and a visit to that fabulous traditional sweet shop.

I took this shot just after finishing some lovely images of them walking along the Pier.  Its was starting to get very cold and I suggested they grab a seat on the bench. Carys instantly began to cwtch into Ross and he naturally opened his arms to warm her up. They didn’t know I took this one. Expressions like this can’t be staged, they just happen. It’s his expression on his face I love the most. She’s so happy and he looks just so damn content. Perfect.
