A Steaming Hot Cwtch!
After a model call on my Facebook page, I was inundated with lots of couples wanting to take advantage of a super cool day out at Aberavon beach and getting romantic with a loved one and of course getting some kick ass images to remember forever. The brief to the couple was simple. “We are heading to the beach and I will need you to sit in the sea and just be your selves” . Emily and Luke did not let me down.
The reason I wanted a real couple is because I wanted to see how the couple interacted with each other and not for me to help pose or direct.
We have a completely delicious Cwtch of the Week for you this week. Shot by our very own Maria Farrelly, this is a stunning shot of our Boobless Bride, Dawn and her gorgeous family.
After receiving the devastating news that her cancer had returned last month, they arranged this shoot with Maria to create more wonderful memories, and I think you will agree, this is a wonderful one. We love you Dawn….
When the wedding dress has been worn, the cake cut, the wine all drank and the songs all played, married life begins. And for some it can be a breeze, for some they face obstacles, and for others its a roller coaster. But no matter what life throws at you, if you love each other, you will find a way to get through. Find ways to smile, laugh and hold each other that bit tighter.
Our boobless bride Dawn & her husband Steve celebrate their first wedding anniversary and are holding their family tighter more than ever as Dawn faces the return of cancer. If you missed her special post, you can read it here.
We have a super lovely couple of cwtches of Lucy and Ian from Michelle Huggleston today, taken at Mansion House Llansteffan overlooking the beach. And what a view! Over to Michelle to tell you more about it……
A Cwtch with a View
It’s so wonderful to get asked to be the wedding photographer for any wedding, and a little more nerve-racking when it’s someone you grew up with. Lucy and Ian got married in the village we grew up in, in Llangyfelach church. The church hadn’t changed a bit since primary school. And the special service was held by Lucy’s Step Father, I love these touches, everyone having a role to play on the day. It really makes it more special.
Lucy and Ian had a fun and quirky theme. Ian’s job when they met was as Lucy called it a ‘Pirate Fighter’ and he proposed on a beach with X marks the spot. These moments added to their theme allowing them to create an elegant colour scheme with elements of pirate, from table names to the cake… the cake was just wow!! A perfect and fun day, and so wonderful to be part of an old school friends wedding day.
I love this image because they were totally in the moment, I’m not sure they even noticed I was taking photographs of them both. The closeness of the two of them, and this was their first few private moments alone from all of their guests. They just look so happy.
We have an absolutely gorgeous pre-wedding shoot for you today!
You may remember that we shared a completely gorgeous Cwtch of the Week of Sarika and Dipesh back in April? Well, the fabulous photographer Sheetal Varsani has now sent us the whole shoot and its just delicious!
Over to Sheetal to tell you more about it….
Sarika & Dipesh by Sheetal Varsarni
I photographed Sarika & Dipesh’s Civil Ceremony last July and their pre-wedding shoot just a couple of weeks before their big day. Sarika & Dipesh’s relationship began in High School and after 10 years together, these childhood sweethearts got married with a ceremony at Cardiff City Hall.
For their pre-wedding shoot, we drove down to Ogmore-by-Sea to catch some of the beach’s gorgeous golden hour light. It’s one of my favourite spots along the Welsh Coast for the sunset and not a long drive from Cardiff. When the tide is in, Ogmore-by-Sea is mostly cliffs and pebbles, but the tide was out so we got to frolic around on the sand as well, giving us more of a variety of backdrops.
Despite it being the middle of July, the weather was a bit dreary, but this made for some dramatic light and backdrop. Sarika & Dipesh embraced the cold wind and drizzle – they were even brave enough to get into the sea for some of the shots!
Sarika & Dipesh were both complete naturals in front of the camera. They got lost in each other and completely forgot I was even there most of the time!
