Today we have the absolute delight of being able to introduce you to our Cwtch Workshops line up.
We always wanted Cwtchfest to be different from your standard wedding fayre offering and part of this plan is to deliver workshops throughout the day in which wedding professionals can give you their hands on advice and experience in an unique way.
They went down an absolute storm in April at Glanusk Estate and we were convinced more than ever that this is what you, our Cwtch followers, wanted from your wedding planning experience.
So without further ado we bring you this years fabulous suppliers that are coming to Cwtchfest @ St Fagans CWTCH WORKSHOPS

Sometimes at Cwtch we get offered lovely opportunities that are just too good to pass up! Recently the team from the Radisson Blu hotel in Cardiff got in touch to see if we’d like a sneak preview of their new mixology masterclass – well, they didn’t have to ask us twice! (You’ll never have to ask us twice if you’d like to give us free cocktails, we love a fancy drink).
Cocktail making has been a firm favourite for hen dos for a while now, so we were curious what new spin the Radisson were planning with their event.
We shimmied up to the hotel to meet up with some other bloggers to find out that we wouldn’t just be watching someone make cocktails – we’d be getting a lesson in how to make some of our favourites too (and a few new one we’d not heard of before!). We even got the chance to make up our own cocktail recipe, which was a lot of fun!
How it worked
It was a really classy event – relaxed and focussed on the ingredients, and learning about why certain flavours work well with each other, rather than just getting drunk. If you’re looking for a more chilled out, sophisticated version of the classic cocktail making course then we’d definitely recommend this one :)
First of all we were shown a few classics – the Bellini, a Margarita, a Martini, a Mojito and an Ameretto Sour (lots of m’s!). For each cocktail the resident mixologist, Jamie, picked two people to try out the recipes while he explained how they were made, so everyone got a turn at making something which was great fun for all.
After we’d learnt the basics we split into two teams to compete against each other to create the tastiest cocktail – we had a great time imaging all the crazy combinations we could make. Maria and I were on separate teams which means we can officially say that (someone from) Cwtch the Bride came out on top ;) In reality both cocktails tasted great and Jamie was hard pressed to choose a winner.
We spent a good couple of hours at the hotel, overall. It felt like the perfect amount of time to appreciate the drinks but not get so tipsy that you start to wish you hadn’t tried that last one! :)
We had a great time hanging out with everyone, so we can imagine that with your group of best girls (or boys!) you’d have an absolute whale of a time. The masterclasses are held in the downstairs bar so you get the space to yourselves, always a nice touch. The hotel is also super central, so if you’re planning a hen weekend in Cardiff then you can easily add this to your itinerary without having to worry about designated drivers missing out :)
We’re giving it a great big two thumbs up. If you like cocktails then we think you’ll love it :)
