You know that moment when you watch someones wedding film and rather than yawn you get goosebumps? Yeah… this is one of them! and you know when the guy that made the film happens to be really young and oozing a ridiculous amount of talent that it kind of annoys you (haha)… yeah…. Meet Ben Walton folks! He’s flipping awesome!
I’ve personally had the pleasure of working with Ben. We both shot a wedding together a few years back. I think he was half my age then (mannnn that makes me feel so old to type that!)
Anyhow, today, I want to share with you one BEAUTIFUL wedding film. Seriously, I shed a tear and think you might too. The Father of the Bride’s speech alone warrants a tissue. There is so much I love about this wedding. I’m just gutted I didn’t get to photograph it ~ Maria
Adam & Zoe’s Welsh Seaside Wedding
Adam & Zoë’s wedding was set on the coast in the seaside town of Aberystwyth. Preperations & ceremony took place in the town followed by the reception slightly set back off the coast at Nanteos Mansion. A great venue, surrounded by fields, rolling hills & sheep.
To wedding video, or not to wedding video, that is the question. A lot of time during the wedding planning process is spent prioritising what you do and don’t want so you can stick to any budgets you’ve set yourselves.
Of course we all want to have everything but that isn’t always possible. To all those brides to be who are currently deliberating whether to take the plunge and book a wedding videographer or not, maybe this will help.
Your wedding day goes so quickly that you can’t possibly remember everything. You also can’t be everywhere at the same time so inevitably you miss parts of the day. I actually got really upset after the wedding that I couldn’t remember so much of the day but was reassured by many friends and family that it was completely normal and it would all come back to me when I saw the photographs and wedding video.
I absolutely love my wedding photographs, but there are certain aspects of the day which would never have been captured had we not have had a wedding videographer. For example, the reaction of my Dad when he first saw me in my dress, the ‘pep talk’ someone gave to Rich before the ceremony when they didn’t realise he had a microphone on, but most importantly, the kind words and wishes said by loved ones during the speeches. When I watched our wedding video for the first time it brought back so many happy memories.
I love my wedding video. It captures all the excitement of the day and it’s something we can watch in years to come as a perfect reminder of all of the love and laughter.
Megan & Shaun got married on Valentines day at the fabulous Nanteos Country House in Aberystwyth and their wedding featured a HELICOPTER! Amazing. We hope you love this film as much as we do, I’m a huge advocate for having a wedding video and I think after seeing this you will probably see why!
nb. watch in full screen to get the full effect!

Homemade Bride Kate is sharing her gorgeous wedding with us this week, on Friday we’ll be showing you the beautiful wedding photos but today is all about the videos – plural! Kate & Sean are not only sharing their highlights video with us but also one of the funniest things I’ve seen – their marryoke video! To find out what this is keep reading! Huge thanks to Apricot Tree Weddings who filmed them.
Sean and I are very lucky to have tremendously talented friends. So when Sean’s best friends offered to do our wedding video I was so excited. Not only do I know that they are amazing at what they do but I knew I would feel comfortable with having them there on the day. It’s a very strange feeling trying to imagine how stressed you will be on the day and coming from a hair and make up background I have known many occasions where the bride is very self conscious of the camera. I was actually excited about spending the morning with our closest friends even if they did arrive with two cameras. Casey even helped me put my eyelashes on before I started to panic that things weren’t going to plan.
There is a big debate when you are planning about weather or not you have a videographer or not. My husband wasn’t sure it was something that he wanted so we decided to ask some of the other Cwtch girls their opinion. The thing that swayed him was when is was the men that said it was the one thing that were so glad that they had done. Then there was the other one who had said how disappointed they were not having one. He was sold!
This is where I get to say thank you to our amazing friends Sean and Casey at Apricot Tree. When Sean and I saw it for the first time we were in awe. You captured the day perfectly but not just documented it you got the feeling of the day! I’m so thankful that you are the perfectionist that you are!
Our amazing videographers also offered us the option to have a Marryoke. Now for those who have no clue what that is, it is when your guests mouth the words and they very cleverly edit the real song over it. Watching this back was the funniest thing. It was great to see your friends and family letting loose and enjoying the day. I love feeling like I was in my very own music video!
