A Sunset on Southerndown Cwtch

Wow, what can I say other than what a superb day to have shot this pre wedding shoot with Susie and Rob.

In August I will be heading to Clearwell Castle where I will have the pleasure of shooting their wedding.

So, having meet Susie and Rob last year to discuss their wedding, I was over the moon that they decided to book me for their big day and recently when Susie got in touch to arrange a pre wedding shoot at Southerndown beach I had all fingers and toes crossed that the sun would come out to play. Well, it worked. The weather man or woman, I’m not sure which :) said it would be cloudy and overcast all day. I should have known, as we all do, they are never right and I am so glad this was true.  The brightest and clearest blue skies that I have seen this year, not a cloud in the sky and the location Dunraven Bay, renowned by landscape photographers and many others as an amazing sunset location.

Susie told me that she and Rob were not lovers of the camera so I had to make sure that by the end of the shoot they were. Rob, well Rob clearly knew how to work that camera and even impressed Susie, well done Rob, obviously been practicing :)  It was a great day, plenty of laughs and what really made the day for me was when they both said how much of a great time they both had. Thank you both, looking forward to the wedding now.

Its been a while but i’m back… sharing more of my work with all you lovely Cwtchers.

Cwtches can mean so many things to so many people. Here we have one that I adore. I photographed Cary & Ross’s wedding on Penarth Pier back in October. It was a beautiful intimate ceremony followed with fish n Chips and a visit to that fabulous traditional sweet shop.

I took this shot just after finishing some lovely images of them walking along the Pier.  Its was starting to get very cold and I suggested they grab a seat on the bench. Carys instantly began to cwtch into Ross and he naturally opened his arms to warm her up. They didn’t know I took this one. Expressions like this can’t be staged, they just happen. It’s his expression on his face I love the most. She’s so happy and he looks just so damn content. Perfect.

Cwtch of the Week: A Cutie Cwtch

Oh my oh my.  If you don’t completely adore this image, then you’re made of stone! Shot by the gorgeous David Williams of Anderson Photography, these two little cuties have pretty much made my week already!

Over to David to tell us a bit more about the image….

This shot was from Alana & Matts wedding down at Oxwich Bay. I love it simply down to the love and affection this brother & sister showed toward each other and at a moment when the light was absolutely perfect…almost a fitting end to a family occasion.

David, we could n to agree more! Its just magical! Thank you so much for sharing!

Georgia + Emily’s Beachy CwtchGeorgia and Emily by Jake at Ryan Welch Photography

After seven amazing years together, Georgia and Emily decided to tie the knot at the beautiful Oxwich Bay Hotel, situated along the Gower Peninsula South Wales.  With its breathtaking panoramic views of the coast, Georgia and Emily were blessed with beautiful blue skies and golden sands! (which certainly makes our job a little easier).

We first met Georgia and Emily when Georgia was a bridesmaid at Emily and Joe’s wedding at The Angel Hotel in Abergavenny last year.   After spending a great day with Emily’s awesome bridal party we couldn’t wait to photograph this big day.

These two lovelies planned the most special day with smiles and laughter all around from morning til’ night.  A superb setting with added vintage quirkiness thrown in from the pair, such as a Volkswagen camper van and Georgia rocking cowboy boots for the evening festivities!  They booked both our photography and videography service, which helped capture the most intimate and moving moments in a cinematic short film full of love, laughter and romantic goodness.  This was also a good chance to use our drone for those epic wedding shots and aerial views of the beautiful Oxwich Bay Hotel like you have never seen it before!
