FEATURED POST – Music For You

Today Cwtchers we have one of our fabulous Lush list members Music For You on the blog with their three top tips for you.  But first they explain a little on what they do….

Music for You is run by professional musician Andrew Jones, who has been involved in the industry for in excess of 25 years and who prides himself in providing quality professional musicians, who perform live music, to the very highest standards.
Weddings & Romance

When selecting the type of music you want for your “Special” Day, Andrew understands the importance of getting things just right and will personally talk you through the many options available to you, in order to provide a bespoke service, tailored to your individual needs and tastes.

The Music for You Brass Quintet

This will include all aspects of your wedding Day, right from the “big moment” for the arrival of the Bride, the music played during the signing of the Register, the Recessional music as the newly-married Bride and Groom exit the Ceremony, the Drinks Reception and Wedding Breakfast, through to the Evening Party and the music for the First Dance.

It’s also important to get the right musical combinations to suit your day, which is why Music for You takes time to get to know the Bride and Groom properly and to find out what their particular musical tastes are from the outset. Are there any special pieces of music which you both like? Is there a recurring theme for the Wedding and would you like music that reflects that? Would you also like the musicians dressed in a particular style?

Music for You can offer anything ranging from a Brass Quintet and a team of Fanfare Trumpeters, to a String Quartet and Harpist, right through to a 60’s soul Band and a 15-pice Big Band. The choice is yours.

Our 3 top tips for Brides-to-be

  1. If you’re having a Civil Wedding Ceremony, remember that you must not have music performed, (live or recorded), that contains ANY religious connection or connotation whatsoever.

2.  Don’t underestimate the power that music has on your special day – especially live music. The entrance of the Bride is probably one of THE most important moments of your life, so choose your music with that in mind.

3.  Remember that it’s your Wedding Day, so if you would like something slightly different to walk down the aisle to, there’s a chance we can do it for you. As our motto goes – “Music for You – it’s just that!

Featured Post – Guest Who

Today Cwtchers we have our fabulous Lush Listers Guest who who do an alternative to the usual photo booth.  They have their top 3 tips for brides to be but first they explain a little of what they do so very well…

In a nutshell we (Dylan and Leanne) provide a lightweight, pop-up mobile studio, a fresh alternative to the usual photo booths, you know the ones we mean (black box.. in the corner of room… 4 people in like sardines…)

CTB_(1_of_1)-12

We like to think that the ‘Guest Who’ Photo Booth has a touch of the handmade, DIY quality that fits in with many current wedding styles, but with all the professionalism of a commercial photo booth machine.

Whatever theme or style you have for your wedding, we can incorporate it into the booth…. you could say that we are style chameleons!

CTB_(1_of_1)-13

Based in South Wales, but we do travel all over the UK, Guest Who prides itself on being more personal than all the ‘others’.

CTB_(1_of_1)

We love crazy prop requests (we make specific signs for in jokes, phrases) in addition to the usual Photo booth sayings, we source specific prop requests (provided we can get it) to the needs of the happy couple.

CTB_(1_of_1)-2

We do all this through a meeting (ideally at the venue) prior to the event… just to iron out all the info, such as timings, so we don’t bring in our stuff in the middle of the grooms (or Brides) speech, where the booth will go (so we don’t set up in the middle of the buffet area) and any other issues… But also, its great to put a names to faces.

Our top 3 tips for Brides

1.  Get involved in the speeches. Why let tradition dictate

2.  Take flat shoes for the evening so you can dance all night

3.  Hire a Photo booth, your guests will love it, especially ours

Top Tips if you choose to have your dress designed and made in Wales.

  1. Even if you know what you want, always go and try on a few wedding dresses as it is such a different dress to anything you have in your wardrobe. Try on a wide range of styles as the style you may think will suit you, may not be the one!
  1. If you have a dress designed to fit you, then there is no need to crash diet. The dress is being made to fit you, not you fitting the dress. The right dress should fit you comfortably and flatter you in all of the right ways.
  1. Invest in comfortable and well fitted underwear as then you will feel fantastic on the inside as well as look amazing on the outside!

Featured Post – Holden’s Catering

Good morning ladies!

Today on the blog we have our Lush List caterers Holden’s Catering who are based in Caredigion, West Wales.

We here at Cwtch have personally experienced Tom’s catering in a wedding and it was amazing!  It was so unique and completely personalised to the couple here they give us their top tips for customising your catering for your big day.

Team Holden's Catering

Three Reasons To Customise Your Wedding Catering

Planning your wedding day is like planning the party of your dreams – and a big part of throwing a truly unforgettable party is having an impressive spread of food and drinks that will delight your guests and keep them satisfied. Once the celebration is said and done the food and drink is likely to be one of the most talked about elements of your big day.

Holden's Catering - Champagne

As a bespoke wedding caterer we love to work closely with couples to design wedding menus that fit their wedding theme or a special location that they have chosen for their wedding.

Here are a few ideas from us about why you should consider choosing a caterer that can offer you a bespoke service to provide exactly what you want for your special day.

  1. Make Your Wedding Day Dreams Come True!

The very first thing we ask a bride and groom when we start planning their menu is for them to tell us what their dreams are for the food on their wedding day.

For us, that is ALWAYS the starting point – listening to their wildest imagination for their wedding food, and working with them to tailor a unique and very special menu that will be perfect for achieving the wedding day of their dreams.

  1. Keep on Trend

You know as well as us that couples are increasingly taking a more relaxed approach to the traditional wedding breakfast and it’s fascinating to see how the idea of wedding fare is evolving.

Many couples still love the idea of a delicious three course sit down wedding breakfast to start their married life, and we work with them to make this meal exactly what they want it to be.

But we also love adventure, novelty and doing things a bit differently.

picnic hamper

So far this season we have provided festival themed food stations, rustic style sharing platters, great big barbecues, picnic hampers, enormous paellas, seaside weddings with fish and chip suppers. We can offer a bespoke option for any type of wedding – whether it’s on trend or something off the wall and completely unique!

  1. Keep Everyone Happy

The great thing about a bespoke menu is that it offers you the opportunity to accommodate different tastes, preferences and also special dietary requirements without leaving some guests feeling alienated with a completely different food experience to everyone else. Sharing Platters are a fantastic way to accommodate different tastes, and always provide a great talking point among guests.

Holden's Catering BBQ Sharing Board

The most important thing for us is making sure that every couple’s day runs exactly how they want it to, and our job is to craft and serve every plate, dish, platter, slate board, or picnic hamper of food just how YOU want it.

And at the end of the day we measure our success by empty plates and smiling faces. And of course hearing that the guests are still talking about the food long after the day is over….

Tom Holden’s Top Three Tips for Brides

Tom Holden is Head Chef and owner of Holden’s Catering. He has catered for weddings from 25 to 475 guests.

Here are Tom’s top three tips for brides:

Tom on the BBQ

  1. Book Early: Last year we had to turn down over 30 brides because were already booked on the dates that they wanted. Make sure you get in early so that you can book the caterer of your choice for your chosen wedding date.

Holden's Catering Rustic Wedding place setting

  1. Find a caterer than can interpret your ideas: You may be surprised to learn how much of a good working relationship we form with all of our brides, especially in the weeks leading up the big day. Finding someone that understands what you need and that you can communicate with easily is very important.

Holden's Catering wedding cocktails

  1. The devil is in the detail: If you want to make sure that the food, drinks and service are EXACTLY how you want them then make sure you give your caterer as much information as possible.
